Costa Rica Afternoon
It all started when...
A friend asked me to do some retouching of a fuzzy and low contrast shot from one of his trips to Central America. I fiddled around with it for a while, put it on a bigger canvas and then decided it needed some dynamics in the sky. I remember my trips way south of the border and I loved the afternoon thunderstorms and remembered the many afternoons when the clouds would pile up on themselves all afternoon and, as the sun went down, would move across the land and unload warm rain, along with some occasionally dramatic lightning and thunder.
So, this image is an improvisation from a simple retouch of a fuzzy snapshot into an interpretation of the feeling of a Central American peeler under the dynamism of Mother Nature.
