The title for this segment is “Binary Burlesque.” It’s my attempt to explore the inner workings of a number of women I’d known up to that time. They shared a common experience of dreaming for a realized life with a comfortable romantic relationship, a good job and plenty of social engagement. Instead, they felt stuck in a sedentary job for far less pay than they hoped for and were disappointed in their romantic options. This story is kind of a mediation based on the image, which came first. I liked the image but I couldn’t connect it to anything other than an exploration of the possible inner workings of women I’d known. LINKED HERE is the story.
