Stockton Avenue
it's no secret...
Stockton Avenue can be an excellent wave and hundreds, if not thousands, see it every day from the bike path that tops the amphitheater of low cliffs that surround the break. When the wind, swell and tide are right, it's an incredibly fun wave. A short and steep take-off, followed by a spinning barrel that's almost always makable, it can be a complete delight. Usually crowded and sometimes contentious, for many of the locals, moments in the barrel at Stockton Avenue can feel like this, still and speeding and spinning, all at the same time.
Here, I'm capturing the color, spinning water and highlights from an August, lunch hour session. As a general rule, I like the wetsuit colors from the 80's. The vivid orange of the wetsuit trim compliments the ocean colors quite nicely.
